The Performance tax is a tax that needs not be brought into effect. We truly believe that the entertainment community also needs to get involved in this proclaimed performance tax to have it voted against . If many stations are put out of business if this goes through how will the said tax be collected.  When a person buys a cd the royalties get paid immediately on the music that is on a cd a move etc.   There are two companies out there that monitor stations on the internet for royalty purposes already; those being loudcity and swcast. This entertainment tax is going to hurt many more than it helps as the money it generates will not go to the artists that have created the music mainly the songwriters and artists that perform the music.   The only way I can see a tax like this working is for the record labels and recording studios to put a hidden tax on the sale of movies and cd’s. Also why not put a hidden cost in the sale of admission for every person that goes to see a movie at a theater I do believe this would be much more profitable and easier to monitor then trying to keep track of how many times a songs gets played, how can they hope to monitor the millions of radio stations out there to collect this said tax? We vote and will sign the petition that this proclaimed tax does not go into effect.  Please click on this no performance tax on the home page where it asks you to join the effort that is where you put in your name , email address and zip code it will there ask you to enter your thoughts.
